When you get ready to trade in your existing travel trailer put some thought into the things (previous modifications) you want to move to the new Travel Trailer.
You may be required to buy some new items, like a tire cover for example; however there are probably a number of items you can transfer over to your new Travel Trailer. In our case we had made quite a few additions to our previous Travel Trailer. Therefore we wanted to reuse as many as possible.
I started by walking through the old trailer and making a list of what we had added:
Stainless Bathroom Faucet
Shower Head with Shut Off Button
Stove Spill Pad, and Three Burner Cover
Digital Thermostat
Deluxe Door Grill
Furnace, Refrigerator, and Water Heater Bug Screens
Vent Cover
Next I compared to the items I previously added to what was coming on the new TT. The new trailer already has a stainless faucet in the bathroom and a digital thermostat; so those items I left alone. The Vent Cover is more trouble to remove than it is worth; plus our dealer threw in new covers as part of the deal. Therefore we removed vent covers from the list. All the remaining items were removed, and reinstalled on the new Travel Trailer. Sadly not all of the bug screens could be reused, the water heater bug screen was the only one that was able to go on the new Trailer.
There is no doubt that had I not taken the time to remove and reinstall my previous modifications, I would have spent quite a bit replacing them. You are going to spend quite a bit on your new trailer once you get home, so save money where you can!
Now with the Trailer the way we want it, the only thing left to do is to start making reservations.
